Makers of All Ages - We Need You!
We are preparing to fundraise using Kickstarter and we need to film Makers having a great time making stuff, and that's where you come in.
We are hosting a fun FREE event at LA Makerspace on November 18th between 1-4pm with the following activities:
* Take Apart!
* Learn to Solder!
* Arts & Crafts!
* Design the LA Makerspace Logo! (Winners will receive a 3D printed model of their design!*)
DID YOU KNOW that old hard drives contain powerful magnets? Don't let it go to waste! Take it over to the craft table and make a cute Thanksgiving refrigerator magnet!
DID YOU KNOW that printers, hard drivers, CD drives, and many other small electronics all contain simple motors? What toys can you use these to make?
Thanks to the generous donations of CrashspaceLA and our local community, we'll have a huge pile of old computers, routers, hard drives, and more! Learn about how electronics work by taking them apart, and then figure out how to make the pieces into fun new crafts, decorations, and toys!
**Please feel free to bring toys and electronics from home to make and break as well!**
We'll have several members on staff at the event, ready to teach everyone the skills they'll need to make these awesome objects.
*3D printed design prize will be distributed at a later date, to allow time for CAD modeling and printing
